I'm sitting here in class with about 25 minutes until it starts - thought it might be a good time to update our blog.
So it's officially fall - as of a few days ago. I would've never known it, except that Google's homepage had "Google" written with leaves and fall colors. Interesting how technology keeps the user up to date - instead of the user keeping technology up to date.
Life is good. Tiffany, Joshua and I have gotten pretty involved in our church, which we've been going to for about 2 months now. It's a small congregation (about 25 people); the church is in the process of being built right up the street, so as of now, we meet in someones home. The past few weeks for Tiffany have consisted of scrapbook parties, Mary Kay with the neighbor, ice cream socials; we've even gone to a wedding reception for a couple who just got married.
The weather here is the same as it was when we first moved here. Cool, foggy in the morning and in the day/afternoon it's always warm, but not hot, and clear. You can always wear short sleeves, and it's your choice between pants or shorts (shorts rule).
Work is going great. L-3's contract with the Defense Language Institute was renewed the other day, so I get to stay put and keep enjoying what I'm doing. Between work and school I'm learning quite a bit - school consists of Unix/Linux and Cisco networking... while at work we're doing a lot of server configuration/architecture as we start fiscal year.
Josh turns ONE in just a few weeks. Unbelievable ! We're going to throw a small party - and hopefully Nana will be coming into town.
Other good news !! We moved into our apartment a few weeks ago. It's a 2 bed 1 bath about 875 sq. ft. and just around the corner from Pops and Grandma. We're still only 2 miles from the ocean. We already have furniture for the entire place - from the neighbors, from Willi and Debbie and a table from Wallyworld. We retained all of our kitchenware but everything big was replaced.
Anyhow, we hope you're all good. Send us an email when you get a chance !!!

WOO HOOO !!!
I know this it completely out of theme with our blog, but I can't tell you how excited I am. The 700 billion dollar bailout bill was defeated !!! Yeah this might mean a recession for America, but it's a chance to finally get this country on it's feet.
So what the stock market is down 777 points - we were due for a recession years ago, and the government just papered it's way over everything.
Our society has been living beyond it's means for way to long - financing has been way to easy for homes, cars, and luxury items - most of what you see in our society is the illusion of wealth, instead of actual wealth.
I feel a new sense of pride for this country - assuming that this bill doesn't go back to be voted on - and pass. It will be a chance for free market economics to go back to work. Real estate will return to historical norms, banks will require a down payment on most purchases and people will only spend what they have, and we will be able to have faith once again in our economy.
GO AMERICA ! It's awesome seeing our country stand against a bailout that only helps the rich. Hopefully the Fed keeps their finger off of the printing press and lets the market return to equilibrium.
