Morro Bay

After two weeks of being sick (the first week Josh, the second Abbie,) we jumped in the car after church and headed south. We ended up in Morro Bay - a beautiful, secluded fishing village and touristy(ish) destination. Thanks to the internet, we secured a top notch motel (Best Western) a block from the beach :-)

The large rock/mountain in the back of some of the pictures is actually a volcanic plug. The rock itself is several acres large and over 500 ft tall (Wikipedia). It's also home to a large variety of birds - as we saw a ton of bird watchers.

Anyhow, enough geology. Here are the kids.

Mini - Vacation !!

We got away for 4 days last week and went on a mini-vacation. Mom, Dad, Josh and Abbie went to Northern California to visit the giant Redwood Trees up at Richardson's Grove State Park. The trees were enormous. We rented a little cabin, where all cooking was done over an open flame. The kiddo's love it, and the parents had a great time.

On the way back, we hit the Golden Gate bridge, Golden Gate Park, and stopped off at Ocean Beach in San Fransisco to play in the water for a few hours. Enjoy the pics : )
